UNDERWATER TRANSCEIVER SYSTEM
– TM06TR

The Underwater Transceiver System is for digital calibration of underwater acoustic transducers used in underwater applications such as ocean bottom profiling, underwater telephony etc. Special techniques have been employed taking into consideration various requirements of calibration principles, limitations of water medium, frequency range of operation and type of parameter to be measured.

The TM06TR system includes:

  • Electronic devices serving transceivers and testing include multi-channel standard transceiver systems and standard signal generators.
  • Standard transceiver signal processing system: 8 receiver channels / 6 transmitter channels – meets the needs of monitoring and detecting underwater signals.
  • The Underwater Acoustic Record and Analysis (TM06SW) application software for measuring functions.

*All electronics equipment, switches and IO panel connectors are placed in two racks: Master rack and Slave rack.

THE UNDERWATER ACOUSTIC RECORD AND ANALYSIS (TMO6SW)
APPLICATION SOFTWARE

The Underwater Acoustic Record and Analysis application software has the feature to conduct Reciprocity Test of the Test / Reciprocal Hydrophone with the help of Standard Projector & Standard Receiver Hydrophones. The TM06SW software will be running in a laptop 4 with Windows Operating System having LAN interface connection for control and wiring setup corresponding to either (1) Hydrophone calibration mode or (2) Communication testbed mode.

In Hydrophone calibration mode the Hydrophones are placed within approximately 1 m distance from each other in a triangular setup, to avoid unnecessary echoing noise from the bottom surface it is recommended to have an anechoic tiled testing tank or open-water test facilities. The required testing signal from the signal generator is fed to the power amplifier to amplify the signal to desired voltage level for transmission through either Standard Projector / Reciprocal Hydrophone based on the test procedure.

In Communication testbed mode the transmit and receive hydrophones placed in accordance to customer test scenario, up to 40 m apart. In this mode the software enables testing of various communication protocols in field conditions and laboratories. Communication schemes can be software-defined.
