Bartington Fluxgate Gradiometer, Grad601

The Grad601 is a land use single-axis gradiometer with a 1m separation between the two fluxgate sensors. The system comprises 1 or 2 gradiometer sensors (Grad601-1 or Grad601-2), a battery pack and datalogger for turnkey operation out of the box. The gradiometer's main application is for the use or land survey for archaeological features. The highly sensitive gradiometers will detect sub-nT field variations over the spacing between the two sensing elements. These anomalies may be linked to soils of differing magnetic susceptibilities or the presence of high susceptibility material (kilns). Additionally, to expand the survey coverage, the gradiometers can be installed on a cart system that could carry multiple gradiometers at different spacing options. This facilitate ground cover without burdening the operator.
