Very-small-aperture-terminal Test Set

The VSAT Tri-Band Satellite Simulator System is a field-ready RF testing platform that enables full simulation of satellite communication links across C-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band frequencies, without requiring access to an actual satellite. Designed for ground station and VSAT terminal validation, the system delivers precise frequency translation, low phase noise, and wide instantaneous bandwidth, replicating realistic satellite link conditions in both laboratory and field environments.

Housed in a rugged IP65-rated weatherproof enclosure with field-replaceable modules, the system is engineered for long-term deployment reliability. Remote monitoring and control via SNMP v3 and a built-in HTTPS web server eliminates the need for on-site presence during routine operation, making it equally suited for permanent test facility installations and temporary field verification campaigns

Multi-Band Operation

  • Supports C-band (5.85–6.425 GHz input / 3.625–4.20 GHz output), Ku-band (13.50–14.50 GHz input / 10.70–12.70 GHz output), and Ka-band (30.00–31.00 GHz input / 20.20–21.20 GHz output).
  • 575 MHz (C-band) and 1000 MHz (Ku/Ka-band) instantaneous bandwidth for comprehensive testing.

High Performance

  • Low phase noise: -75 dBc/Hz @100 Hz, -115 dBc/Hz @1 MHz (Ka-band).
  • Flatness: ±2.0 dB (full band) and ±0.5 dB (any 40 MHz segment).
  • Antenna options: Flat panel (C-band) and horn antennas (Ku/Ka-band) with circular/linear polarization.

Robust Design

  • IP65-rated enclosure for weatherproof operation.
  • Field-replaceable modules (TLT, 10MHz reference, PSUs, CPUs) for easy maintenance.

Remote Control & Monitoring

  • Ethernet (RJ45) with SNMP v3 and built-in web server (HTTPS) for remote access.
  • Compatible with ETL TCP/IP protocol.

Flexible Power & Environmental Adaptability

  • 24 VDC power supply with lightning protection.
  • Operates in -10°C to 50°C and withstands altitudes up to 10,000 ft (3000 m)
  • Enables realistic and controlled RF testing for ground VSAT terminals without requiring satellite access
  • Reduces testing costs and time by simulating satellite links in a lab or field environment
  • Improves reliability through robust construction and field-ready enclosure (IP65)
  • Provides flexibility across multiple bands (C/Ku/Ka) with simple band-switching
  • Remote access increases operational efficiency and monitoring convenience
  • Modular design simplifies maintenance and part replacement
